Our Story

Piece of Art Mani was born from a deep passion for the timeless art of mosaic. Located in the heart of Eastern Mani, our studio brings together Byzantine tradition, ancient Greek heritage, and contemporary artistic expression to create unique handcrafted works of art.

Every mosaic is created with respect for tradition, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. Inspired by Greece’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty, our works tell stories that connect the past with the present, bringing meaning, beauty, and authenticity into homes, churches, public spaces, and private collections.

Beyond creating artworks, Piece of Art Mani is dedicated to preserving and sharing the art of mosaic through workshops, educational programs, and artistic experiences that invite visitors to discover the creative spirit of Mani.

Meet the Artist – Stefanos Dinos

Stefanos Dinos is a mosaic artist born in Athens, Greece, in 1971. His relationship with mosaic art began at the age of fifteen when he encountered an old mosaic in a monastery. That moment sparked a profound connection and a lifelong passion for an art form that would ultimately become his vocation.

Believing that art has the power to elevate the human spirit and create a deeper connection with inner light and beauty, he devoted himself to mastering the ancient craft of mosaic.

In 1987, he began his studies at the renowned Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Italy, one of the world's most prestigious mosaic schools. He graduated with Honors in 1990, demonstrating exceptional technical skill and artistic dedication.

Following his military service, he established his first mosaic studio in Athens in 1992, marking the beginning of a distinguished career characterized by creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence.

Throughout his career, Stefanos Dinos has received numerous awards and distinctions for his technical mastery, originality, and contribution to the preservation and evolution of mosaic art. Among these achievements is the Gold Award from the Panhellenic Association of Decorators and Architects in 1999, accompanied by extensive features in professional design and artistic publications highlighting his work and artistic philosophy.

His portfolio includes Byzantine icons, church and monastery commissions, ancient Greek themes, portraits, decorative panels, floors, logos, mirrors, tables, vessels, swimming pool installations, interior and exterior architectural elements, and fully customized mosaic creations. He also creates memorial mosaics designed to honor and preserve the memory of loved ones.

Today, his works can be found in churches, monasteries, public spaces, businesses, and private collections throughout Greece and abroad. Each mosaic is more than a composition of materials—it is a symbol of light, faith, memory, and hope.

Stefanos currently lives and works in Eastern Mani, where he operates his studio, Piece of Art Mani. From there, he shares his expertise through online courses across Greece, in-person classes in Sparta, and artistic workshops for visitors to Mani throughout the year.

For Stefanos Dinos, mosaic art is not merely a craft but a spiritual practice—a way of bringing fragmented pieces together into a new harmony. As he often says:

“Through art, people rediscover the peace, memory, and beauty that already live within them.”
